Sisal Tejidos Yucatán has chosen Asprova

Sisal Tejidos Yucatán has chosen Asprova as its tool to schedule the complex gears of processes and events to industrialize the ancient art of Sisal fiber, synchronizing highly personalized orders and on-time deliveries. Sisal Tejidos Yucatán is the main producer of sisal in Mexico and an important player in the global market, which count with 30,000 m2 of construction, produce 50,000 m2 of rugs per month and exports to 4 continents.

The Mayans, who knew sisal (henequen) as “Ki”, used its thorns for multiple medicinal purposes. They also used the extracted fiber to make ropes, sacks, fishing nets and various textiles, essential for their daily lives. Its legacy lives on as a symbol of identity and as a sustainable and natural alternative for different industries.

The objective of the project is, mainly to schedule since customize products expressed on sales orders to finished goods deliveries. Sisal aims to schedule customized products based on orders, determine feasible delivery dates, and, through parametric engineering, determine production from raw fiber to a fully finished mat or rug from Burners, Spinning Machines, Roping, Warping and Looms until Treatment, Cutting-Tap, Inspection, embroidery and Finishing.

ASPROVA Summit 2025

We participated in the Asprova Summit 2025, sharing experiences with fellow Planning and Scheduling consultants from around the world. We met with companies that have achieved high levels of process and supply chain synchronization, analyzing case studies in diverse industries such as pharmaceuticals (Medinsa), metal (Halcor), aerospace (Turkish Aerospace), and Metec (auto parts). We also actively participated in workshops to reflect on how APS tools are applicable to various concepts such as Lean Production and technologies like AI. In short, it was an extraordinary experience, allowing us to deepen our understanding of the future of advanced planning and scheduling globally, together with other expert participants in cutting-edge tools and concepts.
